30 Day Blog Challenge

Here we are, Day 30! I’ve gone through a whole month of doing a post a month! Yay (confetti explodes from a tiny canon). And for this final day of this month’s challenge I am supposed to take a final photo of myself.

Here I am. Tired and stuffed from a wonderful dinner I just had with some awesome friends. And I am supposed to tell you 3 good things that come from the past 30 days.

I would have to say that the first one is that I’ve gotten more comfortable in actually posting. Two is that I bought a new computer so that I can post with more ease for all my future posts. And three is that… (I’ve had to pause here and think, because I can’t come with third reason). I’ll just leave that one and come back to it.

I am that this month is over. I have enjoyed this month because it’s pushed me to do something that I’m not that comfortable doing. I know that I haven’t written an essay every single time, but it’s something. That’s the third thing. haha I knew that I could figure it out. :)

Thank you everybody that’s been following me on this month’s journey. I hope that you stick around for my future posts. We now return you to your regularly scheduled blog posts.

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 29

30 Day Blog Challenge

30 Day Blog Challenge

For this second to last day the challenge is for me to talk about Something that I could never get tired of doing. I actually can’t come up with a good answer for that. I’m pretty sure that I won’t get tired of breathing…at least until I die. I don’t think that I’ll ever get tired of drinking tea.  I won’t get tired of getting to spend time with my husband. I know that some of you may think that won’t last long, But I think you’re wrong. Josh is my husband and I love him very much and since my love language is quality time, so I don’t think that I’ll get tired of spending quality time with my husband. Another thing that I don’t think I will get tired of doing is crafting (or creating). It’s very satisfying to be able to take different things and make something new. :)

Day 28’s challenge asks me what is my favorite movie. Haha! I would hope that if you guys have been keeping up with these posts this month that you would already know the answer to that question. But…just in case you haven’t been paying attention or if this is your first time reading my blog, I’ll let you know.

My all time favorite movie is The Lord of the Rings.  But Dana, that’s three movies! Shh!! You know nothing! If the book The Lord of the Rings is one book in three parts, then that can be said the same of the movie! Now I do have other movies that i really like but none of them top LOTR! Out of the 250 top movies from IMDB’s wedsite, I have seen 66 of them. I’m ok with that.

I really like Beauty and the Beast, A Little Princess, Pitch Perfect, and Stardust. There are many more movies that I like, but there are a lot a trilogies that I like too. They just released the first trailer of the new Star Wars movie coming out next December, and I have to say that I am super excited about! I really like what JJ Abrams has done with the Star Trek series and I think that he’s  going to do a good job with the Star Wars series. :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today my husband and I got to go down to my parents house for Thanksgiving lunch. I am very thankful that my parents that don’t live far away because I wouldn’t like having to drive for hours just to see them. We had your typical Thanksgiving fare, turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, cream corn, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. I have to say that I ended up having a giant food baby in my tummy. I love coming back to my parent’s house, I mean it used to be my home for the majority of my life. But there’s just this sense of calm that I get as I come down the drive-way. :)

For today’s challenge I’m supposed to put my iPod on shuffle and list the first ten songs. Well…my iPod is 10 years old and won’t stay on unless it’s plugged into a power supply. So I’m actually going to do this with one of my Pandora stations. I will be using my Of Monsters and Men station for this.

1. King and Lionheart by Of Monsters and Men

2. Shake It Out by Florence & The Machine

3. Promises (Skrillex & Nero Remix) by Nero

4. Lisztomania by Phoenix

5. Somebody That I Used To Know (Feat. Kimba)  by Gotye

6. Come With Me Know by Kongos

7. Sail by Awolnation

8. Leave By Body by Florence & The Machine

9. Rolling In The Deep by The Piano Guys

10. Raging Fire by Phillip Phillips

There you have it! Most of those I have given a thumbs up on Pandora but some are just ones that they threw in there because they were similar to everything else that I have on that station. As much as I use Pandora I should probably subscribe to Pandora1… but not just yet. :)

30 Day Blog Challenge

I’m getting so close to finishing this month’s challenge! Today’s challenge is to think back to how I was 5 years ago and how much have I changed since then. This is going to be a fun one!

So 5 years ago was 2009. In October I would have turned 21 years old and I did not have the customary alcoholic drink. I had met my husband, but we weren’t dating at the time. I actually think that I didn’t like him because he had broken up with me. I had graduated from Ecclesia College and was working on staff there. I was an RA of one of the girls housing and I was the assistant to the president’s secretary. Since I had graduated only three years before that, I still had that homeschool kid mindset so I was still easy to take advantage of. (Not all homeschoolers are like that, but I was just very trusting of people and there were those that thought it would be fun to play around with that.)  I know that in these past five years I’ve grown up a lot and I’m no longer that shy, homeschooled, kid that was afraid to stand up for herself. In between now and then I’ve had a few relationships that I haven’t been too proud of (but I learned from), I’ve lost a job, I’ve switched jobs, I’ve gotten married, I’ve moved several times, and I’ve accepted myself for who I am.

I wouldn’t change the things that have happened to me for anything. I learned so much and I’m very thankful for the people that I’ve surrounded myself with. :)

30 Day Blog Challenge

For today’s challenge I’m supposed to tell you about something that I miss. I’ve been thinking about this one all day. I really miss my first car! I mean, who doesn’t miss their first car. It was a 1996 Geo Tracker, and it was a hard top convertible. Since we lived on a dirt road, it was the perfect car for going a little faster then I should have been on that loose gravel. Sometimes whenever I see another tracker on the road i get just a little teary eyed because I remember all of the good times I had in that thing. But then I remember that I traded it for a brand new 2009 Toyota Yaris and then I’m ok again.

I also miss being in college. Not the tests part or the late nights of studying, but the having a fun roommate, buying new school supplies and actually getting to use them. I do miss being in class and taking notes and learning new things. But because I’m not in college I don’t have to work on school work every single night, I can eat ramen because I want to and not because it’s the only thing I can afford to eat, and I the constant stress of making a passing grade all of the time. So I guess I just miss the fun parts of college. :)

What we have here is actually a lot less they I typically carry. I have deodorant for those extra heated times, a mini manicure set, lip gloss, lip balm, hand sanitizer, head phones, mints, a knife, a watch, a hair tie, a scrunchy, a notebook, glasses, my hobo wallet, and lots of pens.
Yep…there it is. :)
I will be happy when this month is over. I want to go back to posting only twice to three times a week.
